Meet the team

Time to Roam captures Australia’s enduring love for caravanning and camping. We take a look at caravans, campers and motorhomes both old and new, the people who own and build them, and the best places to explore with them.  Time to Roam is Australia’s most accessible caravan, camping and travel magazine, available online and in print right across the country.

Phillip Terry – Managing Director

Phill has worked in publishing for the past 25 years. He worked in various roles for several newspapers and magazines as Sales Manager, ‘Business Development’ and PR. This included over a decade in the recreational boating industry after he restored a 1948 clinker boat. Since restoring a 1969 Viscount caravan Phill’s dream of roaming Australia naturally included designing Australia’s only free and accessible caravan and camping magazine.

Rod Bruem – Editor and Publisher

Rod began his career in journalism as a cadet on the Lithgow Mercury, Australia’s smallest daily newspaper, in 1985. At that time he lived in a Viscount caravan in his aunt’s backyard. In the years since then he’s worked in radio, TV as well as being a political and corporate communications adviser.  Inheriting his aunt’s Viscount in 2010 and later restoring it reignited Rod’s interest in caravanning and led to the launch of Time to Roam.
